Traveler Conduct & Participation Policy

Last Updated: 07/22/2025

At Life’s Abri’s, we’re passionate about creating transformative travel experiences rooted in respect, safety, and shared enjoyment. To protect the integrity of our trips and the well-being of all travelers, this policy outlines the behavioral expectations we hold for all participants—before, during, and after travel—and the conditions under which we may deny or limit participation.

1. Code of Conduct

All travelers are expected to:

  • Treat fellow travelers, guides, hosts, and vendors with respect, patience, and courtesy

  • Follow instructions and itinerary schedules unless alternate arrangements have been made

  • Abide by local laws, customs, and cultural sensitivities

  • Show up on time for activities, transfers, and group functions

  • Avoid disruptive, hostile, discriminatory, or inappropriate behavior

  • Maintain modesty, cleanliness, and sobriety, especially in shared accommodations and culturally sensitive areas

  • Refrain from excessive complaints, verbal aggression, or negative influence on morale

Behavior that causes significant disruption, discomfort, or safety risks may result in immediate dismissal from the trip, without refund.

2. Participation Expectations

Life’s Abri’s curated experiences often include walking tours, early mornings, shared meals, and active exploration. While flexibility is built into many trips, travelers are expected to:

  • Participate in scheduled activities unless expressly cancelling them

  • Notify the trip coordinator in advance if they will miss an activity

  • Avoid holding up the vendors or requiring constant special accommodations that impact others

  • Understand that refusal to participate in core elements of a trip may affect the quality of the experience—for you and others

Travelers who repeatedly skip, disrupt, or delay activities may forfeit access to certain components.

3. Shared Space Etiquette

If you have a roommate or sharing common areas (e.g., group transport or dining spaces), you are expected to:

  • Respect personal space and belongings

  • Keep shared areas hygienic

  • Use headphones for personal devices

  • Limit noise and late-night activity

  • Communicate directly and politely if issues arise

If roommate conflicts cannot be resolved privately, Life’s Abri’s will attempt to mediate but does not guarantee room changes or refunds if incompatibility occurs.

4. Substance Use & Alcohol

Light, responsible drinking is permitted (if legal in the destination), but:

  • Excessive intoxication, illegal drug use, or belligerent behavior will not be tolerated

  • Any traveler who jeopardizes the safety of others or causes a scene due to substance use may be removed from further activities at their own expense

Please note: Some trips may involve religious or cultural contexts where alcohol or certain behaviors are discouraged or prohibited. In such cases, travelers are expected to abide by those expectations.

5. Safety & Liability

Travelers must:

  • Follow all safety instructions provided by guides, staff, or vendors

  • Refrain from unsafe behavior, including wandering alone in unfamiliar areas or disregarding activity briefings

  • Carry necessary documentation and emergency contacts

  • Keep valuables secured and avoid unnecessary risk

Any traveler who knowingly endangers themselves or others may be removed from the trip. Life’s Abri’s is not liable for damages or injuries caused by willful disobedience, intoxication, or negligent behavior.

6. Communication & Complaints

If you experience an issue, please:

  • Raise the concern respectfully with your trip coordinator as soon as possible

  • Allow reasonable time for resolution

  • Avoid gossiping, escalating within unrelated parties, or using threats of online retaliation to demand refunds or exceptions

Life’s Abri’s is committed to resolving valid concerns—but disruptive communication methods or attempts to pressure staff may result in limited support and dismissal from the trip.

7. Dismissal from Trip

Life’s Abri’s reserves the right to remove any traveler from a trip, without refund, if:

  • They pose a safety risk

  • They violate local laws

  • Their behavior significantly impacts the experience of others

  • They refuse to follow instructions from Life’s Abri’s or its partners

  • They engage in verbal abuse, threats, or harassment

Removal from the trip is a last resort but will be enforced when necessary to protect the integrity of the trip and the safety of other travelers.

8. Social Media & Image Use

Travelers are encouraged to document and share their experiences, but must:

  • Avoid filming or photographing others without permission

  • Be mindful not to disrupt activities or disrespect local communities

  • Understand that Life’s Abri’s, if tagged on social media or explicitly sent imagery, may use captured photos or videos during travel for promotional use. Tagging or sending us media implies agreement unless an opt-out request is submitted at the time it is sent.

9. Post-Trip Conduct

We welcome your honest feedback after travel. However:

  • Inflammatory or defamatory online reviews, threats, or claims that contradict the Booking Agreement or these policies may result in legal action and forfeiture of travel credits

  • Refund requests must be submitted through the formal process, not demanded via public complaint

We value open dialogue—but expect professionalism in post-trip communication.

10. Final Note

Your travel experience is shared not only with us, but with other people—some of whom may come from different backgrounds, ages, and belief systems. Respect and maturity are key to creating a safe, enjoyable, and enriching environment for everyone.
