Travel Insurance & Liability Policy
Last Updated: 07/22/2025
At Life’s Abri’s, we believe in planning for the best and preparing for the unexpected. While we take every reasonable step to ensure a smooth journey, travel inherently carries risks—from airline disruptions and medical emergencies to lost luggage and natural disasters. This policy outlines our stance on travel insurance, what types of coverage we recommend, and what Life’s Abri’s is (and is not) liable for.
1. Our Role in Insurance
Life’s Abri’s is not a licensed insurance provider and does not sell, underwrite, or administer travel insurance policies. We may:
Offer third-party insurance options for review
Provide general guidance on what types of coverage to consider
Direct you to the appropriate vendor for purchase
Purchasing insurance is your responsibility, and we strongly advise all travelers to read the terms and coverage details carefully before selecting a plan.
2. Types of Recommended Coverage
We strongly recommend that every traveler purchase a comprehensive travel insurance policy that includes the following:
Trip Cancellation & Interruption (due to illness, family emergency, natural disaster, etc.)
Emergency Medical Coverage (including evacuation if traveling internationally)
Baggage Loss or Delay
Missed Connections & Travel Delays
Supplier Default / Insolvency Protection
Travelers with pre-existing conditions or specialized needs should seek customized policies that address those conditions directly.
3. Timing of Insurance Purchase
Some insurance benefits—such as pre-existing condition waivers or “Cancel For Any Reason” upgrades—are only available if purchased:
Within 7–14 days of your initial trip deposit or first payment
Prior to any known issues or formal warnings impacting your destination
Delays in purchasing coverage may result in limited benefits or exclusions. We are not responsible for losses that would have been covered if insurance had been obtained on time.
4. Filing a Claim
If you experience a disruption, emergency, or financial loss:
You must file a claim directly with your insurance provider
Life’s Abri’s will assist by providing the following directly to your insurance provider:
Booking confirmations and receipts
Statements of loss or service verification (when applicable)
Vendor correspondence that may support your case
We do not file claims on behalf of travelers, so you may need to provide us your claim number and any relevant contact email that your claims adjuster provides. Your insurance provider will evaluate claims based on their own terms and documentation requirements—we cannot guarantee approval or reimbursement.
5. What Travel Insurance Does Not Cover
Most standard travel insurance policies will not cover losses caused by:
Fear of travel
Changes of mind or personal dissatisfaction
Civil disobedience or illegal activity
Failure to obtain proper documentation (e.g., visas, passports)
Pre-existing medical conditions (unless explicitly covered)
Please read your policy carefully to understand exclusions and limits.
6. Agency Limitations of Liability
As outlined in our Booking Agreement, Life’s Abri’s acts as a travel arrangement facilitator and is not liable for:
Acts or omissions of third-party vendors (e.g., airlines, hotels, tour operators)
Force majeure events, including but not limited to weather, strikes, political unrest, or natural disasters
Changes, delays, or cancellations made by suppliers
Traveler injuries, illnesses, or losses incurred abroad
Financial loss due to a traveler's failure to obtain recommended insurance
Client dissatisfaction related to services delivered by third-party partners, even if booked by Life’s Abri’s
While we advocate and coordinate to the best of our ability, legal liability for performance rests with the vendor or insurance provider, not with Life’s Abri’s.
7. Travel Waiver & Assumption of Risk
All travelers are required to acknowledge the inherent risks associated with international travel and to sign a Travel Waiver affirming that:
Life’s Abri’s is not responsible for events beyond its control
Travelers assume responsibility for their own safety, documentation, and well-being
Insurance is highly recommended and has been offered or suggested in writing
This waiver helps ensure that travelers make informed decisions about their protection and accept personal responsibility while abroad.
8. Assistance in Emergency Situations
In the event of a covered incident (e.g., injury, evacuation, flight cancellation), Life’s Abri’s may assist in:
Rebooking segments of the itinerary (as feasible)
Contacting vendors or embassies on your behalf
Providing receipts, letters, or trip summaries to insurance providers for insurance claims
However, we are not liable for out-of-pocket expenses, delays, or denied claims. Travelers must keep documentation and receipts for any expenses they intend to claim.
9. U.S. Department of State Notices
We advise all U.S. travelers to register with the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) and review all travel advisories issued by the U.S. Department of State prior to travel. Decisions to proceed with travel despite government warnings are made at the traveler’s own risk.
10. Final Note
Your trip is an investment—financially and emotionally. We want it to be memorable for all the right reasons. Purchasing travel insurance is one of the most important ways you can protect that investment and ensure peace of mind, no matter what the world throws your way.
